5 Of My Favourite Blogs

February 26, 2017 1 Comments

I love finding new blogs to read, so today I thought I would share with you 5 of my favourite bloggers. You might have heard of some of these already, but if you haven't you should definitely check them out.

Just Snyx

Just Snyx is run by Valentine and is one of my favourite blogs to read. I've followed her on Instagram for a while now, but first started reading her blog in the Summer of 2016. Her photography skills are amazing and I am obsessed with her flat lays. She blogs about a range of things such as beauty, fashion and interior/DIYs which means there's something that everyone will enjoy reading. I was going to mention my favourite post of hers but I can't choose because they're all incredible.

Pretty Rain Clouds

Pretty Rain Clouds is run by Leonie, and I have been a fan of her blog since November last year. She commented on one of my posts and that is how I came across her blog (I recommend looking at the comments on people's posts as you'll find some gems) I love reading her reviews on different products and her travel experiences. I also love that her blog has a bit of everything and isn't just focused on one set theme.

It's The Blue Bow

It's The Blue Bow is run by Sammy, and I stumbled across her blog whilst looking through my Twitter timeline one day, but I'm so glad I did.  I love reading all her posts particularly ones that are unique and that I've not seen before, and I love the way she edits her photos. Her blog is also really easy to navigate which is perfect especially if you're a new reader, and she also posts quite regularly so you're never short of posts to read.

Jord Does Makeup

Jord Does Makeup is run by Jordan and I only started reading her blog last month but I love it. She currently only has 2 posts but they're both amazing. I particularly liked her driving experience post as I can relate to it. I also love her photos on her sweet peach palette review as they're so clear and it's nice to see some of the looks that can be created (it persuaded me to purchase it so thanks Jordan) I can't wait to read more of her posts.

Zoella

I'm pretty sure everyone is aware of Zoe Sugg who runs Zoella (if you're not then where have you been?) but I couldn't not include her in my favourite blogs. I started reading Zoe's blog in 2012 and was amazed at how relatable her blog was (and still is to this day) I particularly loved how she just blogged about whatever she wanted whether that be lush products, her outfit or trips out with friends. Of course now she is one of the biggest Youtubers around, but I love how her content has stayed the same throughout the years and she still uploads fairly regularly on her blog.

How I Clean My Makeup Brushes

February 19, 2017 0 Comments

When it comes to cleaning makeup brushes there are 2 types of people. Some love it and really enjoy it, whereas others hate it and try to put it off as long as possible. Whichever category you fall in you know it has to be done, unless you want gross bacteria on your face.

I used to hate cleaning my make up brushes, I always thought of it as a "chore" but since investing in the Real Techniques Brush Cleansing palette last year, I've started enjoying cleaning my make up brushes. Not only does it leave my brushes feeling super soft but it also speeds up the process.

Here's how I do it...

1) Put your hand into the palette and wet it with warm water
2) Add a tiny amount of the Real Techniques brush cleansing gel on to the palette (do this for each brush you are cleaning)
3) Swirl your brush in a circular motion across the palette until it is clean (it still amazes me how dirty my brushes get)
4) Rinse you brush and squeeze out any excess water
5) Lie flat or upside down and allow brushes to dry (I tend to lay mine on a towel and leave them to dry overnight)
6) Enjoy your clean makeup brushes

The brushes I cleaned in this post were

Brush I use to fill in my eyebrows (I'm not too sure of the brand because I got given it by my mum as part of a set she never used)

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream Review

February 12, 2017 0 Comments
I've wanted to try the NYX Lip Creams for so long. So imagine my excitement when I walked into my local Boots store to see that they finally had an NYX counter. I was in heaven and wanted to buy absolutely everything, but until I win the lottery that's not going to happen.

I finally settled on 2 lip creams. One in the shade Istanbul (SMLC06) and another in the shade Monte Carlo (SMLC10)

I love how moisturising these feel on my lips. I've tried other similar products and they've left my lips feeling really dry, so straight away I am obsessed with these. I love the sponge tip applicator as well as it makes applying so quick and easy.

Istanbul is a warm pink colour. It can take a while to set but once set it lasts for a long time and transfers minimally. One thing I love about this shade is that it has a slight scent to it, it's quite sweet like a vanilla cupcake which if you love sweet scents is perfect. Like any lip product this does need reapplying throughout the day, but when it did start fading it wasn't that noticeable on me.

Monte Carlo is probably my favourite out of the 2 lip creams I purchased. It's a gorgeous red colour (I'm a sucker for a red lip) and doesn't dry my lips out. It dries to a matte finish and like Istanbul lasts for a long time, but does need reapplying throughout the day. I would recommend this to anyone on a budget/looking for a cheaper alternative to a red lipstick.

Overall my first impressions of NYX are positive and I can't wait to purchase more lip creams and other products from this brand.
